I had a ducted gas heating system in my house installed in 1994 and had no complaints throughout those years. North East Heating & Airconditioning serviced and maintained the system. The last few years the system demanded lots of care and it got too costly to keep it running. (firing) Also the running cost throughout the long winter months increased considerably. Here in the Alpine Valley where I live one litre of gas cost close to one dollar. In June, the start of the winter season I asked North East Heating & Airconditioning what could be done to improve the situation. They advised me to have a new system installed which in turn would improve the gas consumption and very little cost to maintain operation of the furnace. Common sense prevailed and I accepted their good advice. On the 3rd August 2009, I had a new modern heater installed. A BRAEMAR TH420P. Our home is a 65 year old weatherboard building heated by a space heater in the lounge which wasn't powerful enough to heat the entire house. Also with me now with Arthritis, more warmth was required. The Braemar brand of heating which I installed in the later part of winter has made me realise what little heat my other wall heater provided. The bedrooms and bathroom the other end of the house are now warm, and the damp cold feeling has gone down considerably even though the machine is on all day. Changing from oil (you'd have to be a "wall street executive" to afford it) was easy as all the dealers we visited recommended your product because it's Australian design and workmanship stood it above all others. We had been considering changing our source of heating for a couple of years. We had a wood fire which was installed soon after our first child was born - about 23 years ago. It threw out a lovely heat in the main living area, but didn't reach the rooms at the other end of the house. I had also reached the stage where I had had enough of collecting wood, splitting it and not to mention having to clean out the ash every week. Having made the decision to change, we got quotes for ducted heating, so we went ahead and had the Braemar system installed. The dealer provided a prompt service and carefully explained how the system worked. They also made follow up calls to check if we needed any further assistance. The Braemar system is very effective in keeping the whole house at an even temperature and the dealer programmed in set times for it to come on and off, so the house is nice and warm when we get up each morning and we have a lovely welcoming warmth to greet us at the end of the day. I would recommend the Braemar heating system for an evenly heated house (with no draughts), where the temperature can be altered at the push of a button at any time.

As part of renovations to our house, we considered buying an additional heater to supplement our ducted system that was struggling to effectively heat our home.
